NoorLock — Privacy Policy

NoorLock ("the app", "we", "us") helps you earn social-media screen time by completing acts of worship. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. Contact: ahmed.chaabouni7@gmail.com.

1. Data we collect

NoorLock works offline by default. Data leaves your device only if you choose to sign in for cloud sync and community features.

2. Sensitive device permissions

Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): reads which app is in the foreground to show a block screen. Processed on-device only; never sent anywhere.
Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): draws the block screen on top of blocked apps.
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): used only for optional Voice Tasbeeh to count recitations via the Android system speech recognizer. NoorLock does not record, store, or transmit your audio itself.
Query installed apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): needed so you can pick which installed apps to block.
Notifications, boot, battery exemption, foreground service: keep blocking running reliably (including after restart) and notify you.

3. How data is protected

All data sent to our backend is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS.
Cloud data is protected by row-level security — you access only your own records (and aggregate stats of groups you join).
We do not sell your data.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects your device's Advertising ID and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads (Google's policy). In the EEA/UK you are shown a consent choice before personalized ads. Buying NoorLock Pro removes all ads.
If you sign in, basic usage analytics are recorded on our backend (Supabase) to improve the app — tied to your account, not sold, not shared with advertisers.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the providers needed to run the app:

Supabase (database / authentication / analytics hosting)
Google (sign-in; speech recognition if you use Voice Tasbeeh; AdMob advertising in the free version)

5. Account and data deletion

You can delete your NoorLock account and all associated data at any time.

In the app (instant): Settings → Cloud Sync → Delete account & data. This immediately and permanently deletes your account and all synced data from our backend.

Or without the app: use the deletion request page (or email ahmed.chaabouni7@gmail.com from the Google account you used). Requests are completed within 30 days.

What is deleted: your account record, profile, worship progress, streaks, Noor Minutes balance, and any community/family/friends group data tied to your account.

What may be kept: feedback you submitted is retained in anonymized form (detached from your account), and minimal records required by law (if any).

On-device data: uninstalling the app removes all data stored locally on your device.

6. Children

NoorLock is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
